Career Connect 2019

VENUE: GG International School, Pimpri
Time: 10 am onwards
Date: 23rd November’2019

We have often heard that it is the choices we make that define our lives. The choice of career being one of the trickiest and the most challenging ones for both parents and students, to lend a helping hand, GG International School curated a special event – CAREER CONNECT 2019 – a platform to connect with experts from different fields and make the right choice!

“I have been working with parents and students for more than a decade now, I have seen parents as much as students battling with confusion when it comes to choosing streams. Career Connect is an event that aimed at bringing together the community and helping them eliminate confusions and make the correct decision. We also wanted to create awareness amongst parents about the plethora of options available today” stated Principal, Ms. Bhagwani, GG International School.

On 23rd November’2019, the Assembly Hall of GGIS, Pimpri buzzed with energy and enthusiasm when parents, educators, experts and eager students gathered under one roof for the Inaugural Ceremony of Career Connect 2019.

During her Inaugural Address, Ms. Bharti Bhagwani, Principal, GGIS, congratulated the team of students and teachers for their efforts to put this event together and threw light on the importance of taking right decisions at the right time. Her address was not only motivating but set the right tone for the upcoming day full of activities.

It was time to soon welcome the 1st expert speaker of the day Mr. Nikhil. S. Bhatnagar, who has been mentoring and guiding students and parents for the past 13 years in choosing the right professional streams. During his session Mr. Bhatnagar threw light on the various options present today in the industry and how one can choose the right path to a successful professional life.

The 2nd Session was conducted by Mrs Sonu Gupta, Chief Mentor, GGIS, who addressed the audience on the benefits of studying abroad, preparing for the SAT exams and the financials involved in pursuing education overseas. She also shared with some tried and tested methodologies for preparations.

The 3rd Speaker of the Day was Mrs Vidhya Moorthy, CEO Bassett Education India who brought to light the Top 10 Skills required for Careers of Tomorrow. She attempted at connecting the required skills to personality traits of animals. For example a squirrel saves up for winters, similarly we should save for the future.

Soon after the expert speaker sessions, the open play area of the school was host to 16 stalls that covered varied careers in Law, Engineering, Medicine, Photography, Documentary Filmmaking, Skill Education, Language Skills, Designing, Robotics, Sports, Research and Development and Overseas education.

Students from neighbouring schools also visited the fair and took part in the one day long DNA Extraction Workshop conducted within the premises of GGIS.

The day came to a fruitful end at 4pm, with parents and students leaving the school grounds with a vision about the future that was clearer and informed.
