GGIS Atha brings together varied hues of Indian culture

4th December’2019
Pre Primary Annual Day

The dawn of 4th December’2019 had a different feel , as the ambience of Ramakrishna More Sabagriha, Chinchwad scintillated with colours, fervour and excitement as the tiny tots of GGIS Atha: - the pre school wing of GG International School having centres at Chinchwad, Bavdhan, Rahatani and Pimpri prepped up for the most awaited day of the year – Anant Aryavaat – The Annual Day.
“Tourism in India might sound synonymous to visiting the Taj Mahal or Kutub Minar, but it definitely has much more to offer and is beyond our national monuments. The culture of wearing dhoti to eating on a banana leaf is slowly fading away. We might have come a long way on the map of the world; but it is our culture that keeps us grounded. Keeping this in mind, GGIS Atha decided to dedicate their Annual Day this year to the lost cultures of our country India” stated Principal, GGIS Atha, Bharti Bhagwani.

The day began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp followed by a motivating welcome address by the Chief Mentor of GGIS Mrs Sonu Gupta. During her speech she spoke about the importance of a strong value system since early childhood. She brought to light the richness of our old heritage and also mentioned how important it is to stay rooted to our culture and traditions which will help strengthen our wings. She also encouraged parents to narrate stories behind each tradition followed in an Indian household.

Soon it was time for the show to unfold; the show began with the tiniest of the lot, the play group students from GGIS Atha Bavdhan who presented a vibrant performance depicting the culture and traditions of Madhya Pradesh.
The performances that followed beautifully reflected the grandeur of the rich culture, colourful tradition and magnificent heritage of states like Kashmir, Punjab, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Odisha, North East, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshwadeep, Pondicherry, Kerala, Goa, Karnataka, Gujarat and Dada Nagar Haveli. The narrators who were the students of Nursery, Junior Kg and Senior Kg of GGIS Atha Chinchwad, Rahatani, Pimpri and Bavdhan also narrated interesting historical facts, inspiring stories and folklore from the states.

The show was carried forward with enthusiasm by the primary wing of GG International School, Pimpri 1 o'clock onwards. The students of class 1 and 2 performed exceptionally well while they depicted stories of heroism, valour and brotherhood from the states of Himachal, North East, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhara, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
